Health Technology Adoption in Canada

However, not all Canadians are ready to adopt healthcare technology.

To better understand the impact of this revolution in Canada, in January 2022, Advanis conducted a self-sponsored study - Health Tech and Canadians - probing over 1,000 Canadians about the appeal of and barriers for using technology to manage their health post-pandemic.

Advanis Report highlights include:

• Pre-pandemic, fewer than 1 in 10 Canadians had participated in a virtual consultation. That number has increased 6 times over the course of the pandemic.
• Nearly 9 in 10 are in favour of centralizing all health information in one provincial Government health portal - but data privacy concerns linger.
• Overall uptake of health-related apps is higher among women (47% vs. 40% among men).

We uncovered five unique personas within the Canadians population based on how they view their health and their technology adoption for health management. Which one are you?

These personas offer businesses and public sector organizations a glimpse in to the mindset of the individuals for which they are designing virtual healthcare products, services and policies.
